Seventeen ParksNL parks, twelve of them on measured routes, from Jonathan’s Pond just off the Gander runway to Cheeseman’s dunes at the Port aux Basques ferry terminal. Most sit where a long drive wants a pause.

Check the season before you count on one. Most take campers, not all, and ParksNL publishes the calendar park by park.

Book a site through ParksNL. In July and August the popular parks fill, so book once your dates are set.

Each park below names its drive. The national parks’ campgrounds are their own list.

ParksNL publishes which parks operate, when gates open and what a night costs. Check their page. Glenwood, named in some route text, is not a ParksNL park; its page says so.

Questions

Are these all of Newfoundland's provincial parks?+

No. These are seventeen: twelve on measured drives, and five more camping parks from the province's 2026 camping list, Butter Pot and La Manche on the Avalon among them. Sandbanks at Burgeo is on that list too and not yet here. ParksNL's own site holds the full roster.

Which is the best first-night park from each airport?+

From Gander, Jonathan's Pond, just up the Fogo road, so a late landing still makes camp in daylight. From Deer Lake, Sir Richard Squires Memorial up the Humber River, or Gros Morne's five campgrounds to the north, listed in the national park campgrounds guide.

Can I camp at all of them?+

Most, not all. The Arches and Dungeon are day use, and Codroy Valley is a reserve, not a campground. ParksNL's calendar says when each is open.

Every figure on this page was checked against its source on September 5, 2026.
