How far are you from the airport, or the ferry? Every route on this site answers it with a measured figure — driven out of a routing engine, not a brochure, with the source and check date printed on the page. Any of those maps can sit on your own site, free, with your property pinned on it.
Not our estimate — the province’s
74% of vacation visitors arrive in Newfoundland and Labrador by air. They land, and then they have to get somewhere.
38% use a Visitor Information Centre during their trip, and 60% of those are asking for directions to attractions or sites of interest. That's the question this site answers, and your page can answer it before they go looking for a building.
A destination website is used by 48% of vacationers while they are in the province, ahead of the province’s own site at 26%. In-trip is the bigger moment, not pre-trip.
Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation — Vacation Visitor Profile, 2023 data, and The Shoulder Season Visitor. Figures are for vacation visitors, who are 41% of all visitors to the province.
What it looks like
Build your embed
Pick your town or place: "Every way in" gives guests a tab for each airport and ferry, with the drive and the km on each, and your place pinned. Three fields, no editing code by hand; the snippet below rewrites itself as you type.
<iframe src="https://fromtheairport.xyz/embed/kit/gros-morne?lat=49.5960&lon=-57.9310&label=Your property"
width="100%" height="480" style="border:0" loading="lazy"
title="Getting to Gros Morne from every airport and ferry"></iframe>
Those coordinates don't look right — paste them exactly as Google Maps gives them.
The terms
It is a plain iframe. It runs no script on your page and costs nothing. The small From the Airport name and web address on the widget are the whole trade.
We do not choose who appears. The stays listed on route pages are whatever OpenStreetMap records, sorted by distance and not ranked. Not there? Add yourself on OpenStreetMap and you will be there on the next build.
We never rank you against your neighbours. This site recommends no operators, so embedding it cannot steer your guests to a competitor.
If we ever stop, the iframe simply goes blank — it cannot break your page, and your site loses nothing but the map.
Photographs are handled properly. A photograph cannot be published here without a credit, a licence and a link to its source — the build fails if any of the three is missing. Contribute one →
Want a drive covered that we have not written? Routes are accepted on published criteria — measured, sourced, and never for sale. How routes get accepted →
For the airports themselves
One embed with every drive from your terminal, for an arrivals or rental page. Free, and we keep it up to date.

title="Measured driving routes from Gander International Airport"></iframe>
Deer Lake's is /embed/airport/ydf; St. John's is /embed/airport/yyt. Live previews: YQX · YDF · YYT. The whole-network map is for the three island airports. For a ferry or a Labrador arrival, use a route embed above: every place has one from each.
Airports, ferry operators, towns and tourism organisations: embed or link any route, or cite its distances. Talk to us.
For towns: how a community improves its own page
Every town on this site got here by being measurable — and every one of them can deepen its own presence today, without asking us, because the site reads from open sources a town can feed:
Map yourselves. Add your wharf, beach or museum to OpenStreetMap and it shows here, and on every map-based app, within days.
Send the photographs only you have. Credited, licensed on your terms, via the contribute page — including the timestamped berg-and-whale shots that become verified sightings under the rules there.
Tell us what's true, with the town's own source. A town office page, a heritage society's history, a festival's real dates — public bodies are linkable for their own facts, the same rule parks and clubs already get here.
Propose the routes and stops we missed under the published criteria — local knowledge, mapped, is exactly what we can't compute and can verify.
We don't print unsourced claims, unmeasured superlatives, or favour one town over another. The town that adds most to the open map has the most to show.

One step left: click the link in the confirmation email and you're on the list.
