What the people here have told us

Canteen
“There is one. The Town lists a canteen among what the 2012 renovation added, and says it operates at the facility. Whether it takes cards is not stated anywhere we can find, so bring cash and you are covered either way.”
Town of Botwood, its own Harry Ivany Arena page, 2026-09-15.
The story
“The Town of Botwood says the arena is named for the late Harry “Dick” Ivany, who spent many hours playing, coaching and refereeing broomball. The building itself is older than the name: the Town says it was built during the Second World War as a military drill hall and officially opened on 16 February 1949. A major renovation in 2012 added six new or refurbished dressing rooms, a time clock, a canteen, lighting, a sound system and boards, along with a new foyer and main entrance.”

Here, but not on the map

Listed by Town of Botwood. They aren't on the open map, so we can't give distances. Botwood is mapped well, and unusually so: OpenStreetMap holds the arena, the soccer pitch, two softball fields, two playgrounds, the Flying Boat Museum, the Heritage Centre, the PBY Catalina, the war memorial, a harbour-view gazebo and four named walking trails. Two things the Town publishes are missing, and that is the whole list.

  • Skate ParkBotwood

The Town keeps a page for it among its residents' facilities, alongside the ball fields and the playgrounds.

    Town of Botwood, read 2026-09-15.

  • Community GardenBotwood

The Town keeps a page for a community garden, and a separate one for the Baetha statues and healing garden.

Town of Botwood has no lasting page for it·Know a date, or a page for it? Send both

The Town runs a live calendar rather than a fixed annual list, so it is linked and not mirrored. Read on 2026-09-15 it held twenty-one entries, most of them one-off notices, and nothing upcoming.

Town of Botwood, read September 15, 2026. The Town is the authority on the dates.

What this page is not

  • Not a schedule. Ice times and bookings are the town rec department's.
  • No paid listings. No one can pay to appear.

Venue from OpenStreetMap, eateries from Overture Maps, drive times from OSRM. Measured 2026-09-11.

2 of 6 are confirmed by two maps. The rest have one source, so we show the address but no pin. Adding a place to the map fixes that, in about twenty minutes.
