On the way to…

  1. YDF → Port au Choix →

The 1892 light on the Point Riche Peninsula past the visitor centre, mapped at the end of the headland road beyond town. The archaeology sits in the limestone barrens around it. Caribou wander the point, and the Parks Canada site's trails link the light to the dig sites.

Stopping here adds about 4.2 km to that drive (236 km start to finish).

  2. Viking Trail →

Built in 1892 and joined to the village by a 3 km trail, per the province's tourism site. Caribou are often seen grazing around it. Watch the horizon for whales.

Stopping here adds about 37 km to that drive (476 km start to finish).
